How it runs

How the days work

Each session runs several days across multiple pools. Early days are pool (group) play — teams are seeded into pools and play a round-robin; later days are the bracket and medal rounds, where wins advance and losses drop into placement games. Games run morning to evening, so a team’s start times depend on its division, pool and venue — there’s no single daily start time.

When does the 2026 Junior Olympics water polo schedule come out?
The official master schedule (the "heat sheet") for each session is posted by USA Water Polo in the days before that session starts, and updated as brackets seed. The 2026 session dates are Session I July 18–21, 2026, Session II July 23–26, 2026, and Session III July 30 – August 2, 2026.
